We need information about you to provide our service to you. This information will either be required at the outset or in the course of the service provided to you. If you do not provide the information we ask for it may delay or prevent us from carrying out your instructions. It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed of your personal data changes during our time acting for you.

We will gather most of the information that we need from you direct but sometimes we will collect data from:

We will keep your personal information for as long as we need it to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, including data kept for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirement. Generally electronic and hard copies of your file will be held for seven years and will be destroyed at the end of that period.

All our files are stored securely on our premises until they are destroyed.

Documents that you have asked us to store on your behalf do not have any destruction date but are stored securely at our offices.

In certain circumstances you have rights under Data Protection Law in relation to your personal data which you can exercise free of charge, namely the right to:

  • Request access to your data;

  • Request correction of your data, if it is inaccurate or incomplete;

  • Withdraw any consent that you may have given to the processing of your data.

The above rights are not absolute and we may be entitled to refuse requests where exceptions apply.

In respect of any payment to be made to you, please confirm the account details by 2 separate and distinct means (one of which must be a written and signed payment authority). We will not be liable for any loss or damage in connection with any payment made to an incorrect account as a consequence of or in connection with email hacking, identity theft, cybercrime or fraud by third parties in general.

Our communications and any attached files are confidential and are encrypted if they include personal data. If you are not the intended recipient, any reading, disclosure, reproduction, copying, distribution, or other dissemination or use of such material is strictly prohibited. If you have received any such communication in error please destroy it and immediately notify us.
